The accounting scandals that rocked the financial world in the early years of this century raised serious questions about the integrity of financial reporting. In response to this crisis of confidence, Congress enacted legislation (principally Sarbanes-Oxley) that resulted in greater scrutiny than ever before being applied to the reporting of financial information and to the controls designed to ensure its quality.

The bar has been raised once again in 2008 with the introduction of eight new Statements of Auditing Standards (SAS 104 - 111) aimed at further reducing the risk of material misstatement in financial statement audits. Our audit teams are schooled in the content and application of the new SAS. And we have invested in technology to make their implementation as efficient and cost-effective as possible.
